Drumming and Dancing
Belaharr includes the dancers who appear at most of our
events. We are also joined by other troupes at some
performances. There is a
unique interplay between rhythm
expressed on the drums and rhythm expressed in the movement of the
human body. We are lucky to know and work with dancers who are
able
to help us communicte that interplay today.

New CD coming soon:
Rough Cuts here! We are mixing out next CD! Sonya is at the helm on this one, and it will be a bunch of songs Good To Dance To. Dancers will love it and have something to dance to on stage. Drummers ought to like it too because Fadi is on this one, and his Dumbeck work is something to hear! Here are some of the rough cuts here to give you an idea of the sound. The final mixed versions willbe available on the CD, tentantively scheduled for release in March Rough cut 1: Traditional this is a song both Fadi and Cedric knew, and they just banged it out in between recording other songs. Then Cedric put in another violin part and Sonya added the 'zills, and you will like it! Rough cut 2: Mas Moody a moody little thing with Fadi, Scott, Sonya and Cedric Rough Cut 3: Wehde Fadi started playing this when we were warming up in the studio and Cedric jumped in on it. So Scott got out the Duns and Sonya got her 'zills and after a couple of run-throughs we had a brand new song we had never played that will probably end up being one of the best on the CD. |

Some Basic Hand Drum Lessons Scott did a few lessons last
year for Expert Village on how to play djembe and dumbeck.
These will give you some beginning techniques and rythms that will get you playing your drum f or fun by yourself or with friends. Many people have emailed and told us they are a helpful way to get started with their drums. Please note that Expert Village
edited
those videos, not Scott, so the quality is a bit inconsistent on some
of them
